Abstract:
Owing to their high biocompatibility and diverse properties, biopolymers have gained immense attention in the biomedical field for constructing encapsulation systems. However, complicated fabrication methods of the systems and their limited functionalities impede the applications of those systems. In this thesis, various facile methods are developed to construct four (bio)polymer-based encapsulation systems with multiple functionalities. The developed systems can potentially be applied as medical-device coatings, as well as for the treatment of joint-related and intestine-related diseases.
